Adele has opened up about the last days she spent with her Welsh dad before his death.

Her estranged dad Mark Evans died in May at the age of 57. It had been reported that he was suffering from cancer.

In interviews for both Vogue and British Vogue this week, the 33-year-old singer shared that she was able to find peace with him, adding that therapy helped heal some of the trauma she faced because of him.

"I know he loved me, and we actually got our peace before he died," she told Abby Aguirre for Vogue . "When he passed, I had this sort of physical reaction. That fear left my body."

"My mom was incredible when my dad was at the final stages. She was there and helping," she added. Adele's parents divorced when she was just three years old and Mr Evans was absent for most of her childhood.

Adele shared similar sentiments with Giles Hattersley for British Vogue , saying "we actually got our peace, again contrary to reports" and that he got to listen to her album prior to his death.

In 2013, Mr Evans revealed he was battling bowel cancer, and feared he would not get the chance to meet his grandson, Adele's son Angelo.

A plumber, he returned to Wales after having Adele with her mum Penny Adkins, who raised her as a single mum alone.

Mr Evans said he kept in touch with his daughter for years, spending summer holidays in a caravan in Tenby and days eating ice cream on the beach at Barry Island.

He remembered a happy-go-lucky little girl who loved swimming and was obsessed with the Spice Girls.

Adele revealed that she played her dad the new album on Zoom, just a week before he died.

"One thing that definitely happened in my divorce was that it humanised my parents for me. Big time. I went to hell and back!"

Adele and her ex-husband Simon Konecki's divorce was finalised months before Mr Evans' death, and she said it was her divorce, then, that helped her reach a point to finally forgive him.

"And in that I found the peace to forgive him," she said. "He was ready to go and he lasted a long time with it. So thank you."
