We like: thin and light, great battery life.

The Acer Swift SF114-34 is a brilliant budget laptop. It’s a great choice if you need a basic laptop with a decent screen that won’t baulk at getting some work done, rather than out-and-out speed. While it’s not perfect, it’s very impressive for the money.

We like: light and fast with excellent speakers.

We didn’t like: not many ports, underwhelming web-cam.

This is a fast, thin and light laptop with a great screen and good battery life. However, a lack of wired connectivity and some extremely capable rivals from the likes of Apple, LG, Dell and Lenovo mean it’s worth weighing up your options.

We like: speedy for basic tasks, light

We didn’t like: speakers aren’t the best

This is an impressive and light laptop with a lovely screen. It has a 360-degree screen hinge, so you can flip it around and use it like a tablet or prop it up on your table – useful for watching videos.

We like: fast, light, great keyboard and touch pad

We didn’t like: not many ports, expensive upgrades

This is a brilliant laptop that has an excellent screen and great speakers, as well as a thin and light design and plenty of speed. Its screen isn’t quite as good as the one found on the MacBook Pro, the battery is smaller and it isn’t quite as fast, but there are plenty of plus points. If your budget will only stretch as far as the MacBook Air, you won’t be disappointed.

We like: HD picture with good detail, solid bass and clear dialogue

We don’t like: 4K detail can be inconsistent

If you’re looking to spend less than £500 on a big-screen TV, the LG 50UP77006LB is a decent option. At £449, it’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen this model.

It has a 50-inch LCD display running at 4K resolution, and a bundled remote with built-in microphone, so you’ll be able use voice commands to find shows on various video streaming apps.

With this LG, you can watch SD content through Freeview and satellite, or HD channels through an aerial or satellite.

We like: Smartphone control via an app, powerful spin

We don’t like: Small door, uses a lot of electricity

This powerful LG F6V1010WTSE washing machine has several high-tech features, including smartphone or Alexa control and an intelligent weight sensor system. It uses a lot of power but certainly gets results on a range of materials.

This product tends to fluctuate in price. So at £200 off, now is a great time to buy, provided it’s the right model for you.

This 9kg capacity washing machine has 10 washing programmes and a speedy spin cycle. It also has a salt compartment in the detergent tray so you can add dishwasher salt and set it to soften your water if you live in a hard water area.
