Celebrity MasterChef 2022 winner announced after 'superb' final

The Celebrity MasterChef 2022 winner has been announced by John Torode and Gregg Wallace. After six weeks of heats, quarter-final, and semi-final tasks, Lisa Snowdon has been crowned champion.

The presenter was handed the trophy after beating McFly's Danny Jones and All Saints singer Mel Blatt in the final. Emotional on being announced winner, Lisa said the competition had been "life-changing".

She said: "It’s such a life-changing experience. I feel like this isn’t real! I just can’t believe it. I couldn’t have wanted to win something that meant more to me than this. I am on cloud nine. I love it."

The final was a tough one, and saw the finalists cook a "faultless" three-course meal in just two hours. John and Gregg called every course "superb", but ultimately Lisa impressed the most.

Lisa's menu was a starter of poached rhubarb and pan-fried mackerel with a fennel slaw; a main course of pan fried duck breast with mushrooms and, for dessert, a chocolate tart with crème fraiche and sour cherries

John and Gregg said: "As finals go, we had three courses from each of them which was superb." The pair then gave their verdict on each of the finalists and their food.

They said: "Danny's dishes today they were full of tropical sunshine. I think Danny's a great cook with his own identity, and that is fun and energy.

"But I think Lisa has cooked really well in this final and she dared to take a risk. Incredibly daring combinations there. But I think it really does work, it's thought-provoking, it's refined, and it looks great.
