Darius' Campbell Danesh's cause of death may not be known for two months

Darius Campbell Danesh's grieving family may face a two-month delay to find the singer's cause of death. The Scot was found unresponsive in his apartment in Minnesota on August 11.

The 41-year olds death was announced on Tuesday, but it has now been revealed that the cause of death may remain unknown for up to two months. Local police in Rochester, Minnesota confirmed there were ‘no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances’ and are awaiting toxicology results which could take up to two months.

The moment Darius was found dead was revealed August 17 in a police dispatch call obtained by The Sun. It confirms a call was placed at 11.53am when a 'medical' team was requested for a 'possible deceased' person.

Following the tragic news of the former Pop Idol star's death, an output of tributes has been shared on social media.

Fellow Pop Idol star Gareth Gates wrote: "I can’t quite believe the news of my dear friend Darius passing. I’m heartbroken. Darius took me under his wing during our time in Pop Idol, like a big brother; always looking out for me and for that I thank you my friend.

"I will miss our chats. He was one of the most beautiful, intelligent and gentle souls I was lucky enough to know, a soul that lit up every room. Goodbye my friend. Forever in my heart."

Simon Cowell, former Pop Idol judge also paid his respects. He wrote: “I first saw Darius on television over 20 years ago and I got to know him really well.

“He was charismatic, funny and just a great person to be with. His passing, for someone so young, is an absolute tragedy and my heart goes out to his family and friends.”

Presenter and former member of Hear’Say Myleene Klass paid tribute to “talented” singer Darius Campbell Danesh. Along with a link to a video of Campbell Danesh performing, the 44-year-old tweeted: “Everyone should watch this performance. Darius, you were so talented, so kind. A true family man. My thoughts are with them now.x”
