DEBUNKED: Is Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson dead?
Who would you consider to be a national treasure in the UK?
David Attenborough? Judi Dench? The Queen? The list of individuals Brits regard as iconic is debatable, but there are some who are undoubtedly on the list.
One of those people is 66-year-old English actor and OBE Rowan Atkinson, who is best known for his role as Mr Bean. Who doesn’t love Mr Bean, right?
When rumours began flooding the internet that our beloved Rowan had died this week, fans went into panic mode. Is he really dead?

On Monday (November 22nd), reports began emerging on Twitter that Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson had died.
It all started when a Twitter handle posting as a Fox News affiliated account reported that the actor had passed away, writing in a now-deleted tweet:
Other tweets then appeared which also claimed he had been in a car crash, leaving fans wondering if the reports were true.
Don’t worry, Rowan Atkinson is not dead, and the reports are all fake news. He is alive and well and has simply fallen victim to yet another celebrity death hoax.
The Fox News Twitter handle was fake and was not affiliated with the broadcaster in any way. However, it certainly seemed convincing and fooled a lot of internet users.
Some Mr Bean fans instantly realised that Rowan Atkinson is 66-years-old, not 58 as the tweet said, proving that the death report was fake.
This isn’t the first time Mr Bean has been the victim of a vicious death hoax, nor will it be the last. Unfortuantely, fake news sites are always wrongly claiming the actor is dead.
