Emmerdale shares tearful goodbye message from Danny Miller after exit
Emmerdale scenes last night (Monday, December 6) saw Aaron Dingle leave the village for good, after telling sister Liv Flaherty that he couldn't work out whether she did kill his boyfriend Ben Tucker or not.
The youngster, who has recently been charged for Ben's murder, despite the fact that serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) was actually responsible for his death, was left gutted by Aaron's drastic decision. His mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter) was too, having failed to convince him to stick around and face his recent heartbreak with his family by his side.
Undeterred by their pleas, Aaron upped sticks, explaining that he'd arranged to meet up with his old best friend Adam Barton, who's on the run after taking the fall for Emma Barton's murder.
After the episode aired, the long-running soap took to Twitter to share a goodbye message from actor Danny Miller, who joined the cast in 2008, and is currently appearing in this year's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. A lengthier emotional message was also shared to Danny's Instagram account.
"So guys, that's a wrap for Aaron, a wrap on Danny," he began, already visibly upset. "This cast and crew have been amazing for me. I've learnt so, so much here. I've made so many lifelong friends. I already miss them.
"It was a very, very tough decision for me to make for my new family – Steph and my baby. It was a very difficult decision to make because I was only going to have two weeks with me baby before I was whisked off to the Castle in Wales.
"Steph pretty much forced me [to go on the show] to be fair," he added. "I hope I'm entertaining people in there in a different way to the way Aaron's entertained people."
Miller's fiancée Steph Jones, who has been running his Instagram page during his less-than-luxurious stay at Gwrych Castle, posted the full four-minute clip there, too - and it prompted plenty of comments from Miller's former co-stars.
"I won't miss you cause I'm not there but I'm lucky to call you a friend," Debbie Dingle actor Charley Webb wrote. "AND, you missed me out of 'the' list. You'll regret that when you're out of that."
"Loved working with you Dan, but love being ya mate even more," Gemma Atkinson replied.
"I love you so much," Isobel Steele, who plays Liv, said, while Matty Barton actor Ash Palmisciano commented: "You will be so missed mate! Such a talented geezer!! And well done for being yourself in the castle mate!! Smashing it."
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
