Hilary Duff looks incredible as she poses nude for a magazine cover: 'I'm proud of my body'
Even if you don't remember the “Miranda Anorexia” episode of Lizzie McGuire, you understand the pressure to fit a certain body shape that many struggle with. Hilary Duff certainly does. After battling an eating disorder in her teenage years (which she called “horrifying”), the How I Met Your Father star has found peace with her body and opened up about the process to get there in a new, revealing interview.
“I’m proud of my body," she told Women's Health for their latest cover story, which also features a nude photoshoot. (Check it out below.) "I’m proud that it’s produced three children for me. I’ve gotten to a place of being peaceful with the changes my body has gone through."
Hilary said that this pride in her body came about after giving birth to her daughter Banks. “I didn’t even know if I was going to have the opportunity to have another child [after the divorce from ex Mike Comrie]," she explains. "So, being a mom again, maybe. It was a whole mix of things—of being settled and realizing that I’m powerful and talented and smart. All mental things.”
Yep, a strong mind is actually the most important body part. Hilary Duff says that she speaks with her therapist multiple times per month and recently told her son Luca that therapy is an option for him, if he ever feels like it would benefit him. “I love my therapist, and I always feel better when I leave because I can say whatever I want and not feel judged,” she says, adding, "We bust our ass to get our bodies in shape and to look the best we can. We get facials and Botox and our hair done and highlights and brows and lash lifts and all this shit. But I want to work on the inside. That’s the most important part of the system.”
