Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have paid final respects to the Queen as she lies in state.

The couple arrived at Westminster Hall to see the late monarch’s coffin around 5pm today.

After viewing the casket for a few minutes, Biden left to a chorus of cheers from crowds outside the building.

It comes after the US President was spotted travelling through north London in ‘The Beast’ – thought to be one of the world’s most secure vehicles.

It passed along Ferry Lane, Tottenham Hale, surrounded by dozens of police motorbikes and other limousines.

Biden and his wife touched down in London ahead of the Queen’s funeral – and will attend along with around 500 heads of state.

The prime ministers of Canada, Australia and New Zealand are already in the UK ahead of the first State Funeral in the UK since 1965 when Sir Winston Churchill was laid to rest.

Biden had been due to meet Prime Minister Liz Truss on Sunday, but the talks were cancelled on Saturday.

A ‘full bilateral meeting’ was scheduled for Wednesday when the leaders are set to be in New York for the UN General Assembly.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte also visited Westminster Hall earlier today.

The leader had issued a poignant message following the Queen’s death.

‘From her coronation on, she knew and spoke with all of our presidents,’ Macron said.

‘No other country had the privilege of welcoming her as many times as we did.’

Volodymyr Zelensksy’s wife has also paid respects to Queen this afternoon. Paying tribute on behalf of her husband, she bowed her head solemnly as she passed.
