Kate Ferdinand has been praised by fans for not being "ashamed" to talk about her miscarriage at 12 weeks.

The TV personality was met with support after she spoke of her "devastation".

The former TOWIE star shared a black and white photo of her legs on a hospital bed.

She added the tear-jerking caption: "The last time I was in this hospital I was having Cree, but this time it was because our baby had no heartbeat in our 12 week scan and I had to have surgery.

"We were so excited & planning a space for our new baby in our family, we just couldn’t wait to share our news with you all, but unfortunately sometimes life just doesn’t go as we plan.

"So much to say, but somehow I can’t find the words. Absolutely devastated & heartbroken …but couldn’t be more grateful for the hugs I got from my big(er) babies coming through the door when we arrived home."

One brave follower shared her own story, whilst heaping praise on Kate.

"No loss is easy, we lost baby one at 11 weeks and baby 2 at 8 weeks.

"Thankyou for sharing so many women feel ashamed or alone... your sharing will help someone."

Another wrote: "This is really important. We lost two as well, and it isn’t spoken about enough. We now have a little boy on the way who is doing well and hopefully will be our rainbow baby."

"Just had my second MC, so important that we don’t feel alone. Thank you for your share too. Lots of love," a third wrote.

"We lost one at 14 weeks 6 weeks ago ! Told everyone at 12 weeks as you do and as told maybe next time don’t tell people so early . Why not ? I had done nothing wrong x" said another.

Famous pals also rushed to support Kate, with Michelle Keegan commenting: "So sorry Kate. Sending you so much love."

Love Islander Molly-Mae Hague also responded to Kate's post: "I’m so beyond sorry Kate, sending you all the in the world".

Vicky Pattison wrote: "I'm so sorry babe", while TOWIE's Samantha Faiers added: "This is heartbreaking, sending you lots of love and strength."

Her former co-stars Lauren Pope and Billie Faiers consoled the mum-of-one, offering "lots of love."

Danielle Lloyd, Kate Lawler, Georgia Kousoulou and Lottie Tomlinson all rushed to show their support.

Kate married Rio Ferdinand in September 2019 and the pair share their son Cree.

The former Manchester United ace also has three children he shares with his first wife Rebecca Ellison who tragically died of breast cancer in 2015.

Kate gave birth to Cree by an emergency C-section, which at the time she called "a bit of a whirlwind".

"It's a whirlwind I just wasn't expecting... but at the same time the most perfect whirlwind," she wrote.

In June, Kate enjoyed a holiday with Rio, the kids and her mum Jacqueline.

She had previously said that she and Rio were "torn" over the decision to have another baby just 18 months after they became parents to Cree.

A source told told Heat magazine: "Kate really struggled with having a newborn. But as the kids get older, she’s starting to miss the baby phase.

"If she does have another child she doesn’t want there to be a huge age gap. But at the same time, she feels like she’s just getting her life back."
