Lisandro Martinez's hot WAG took dreamy selfie before his Man Utd stinker

Lisandro Martinez's girlfriend was busy sharing a selfie to her followers ahead of his disaster debut for Manchester United.

Muri Lopez Benitez, a 24-year-old showgirl who's in a long-term relationship with Martinez, uploaded a sun-lit picture of herself on Instagram in anticipation of her beau's Old Trafford bow.

While that would have pleased her 36.5k followers, what followed was grim viewing for United fans. They watched their side fall to a 2-1 home defeat to Brighton as their Premier League campaign got off to the worst start possible.

Martinez was handed his debut by Erik ten Hag following his £55million summer arrival from Ajax. He partnered Harry Maguire in a defence which struggled to deal with the attacking threat from Graham Potter's side.

The Argentina centre-back was also very lucky to not concede a penalty in the second half when the Red Devils were 2-0 down. He barged into the back of Danny Welbeck in the box, with Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher adamant it was a foul.

Referee Paul Tierney waved away Brighton's claims, though, to spare Martinez's blushes. At least he had the comfort of being able to return home to partner Muri after the match.
