Loose Women 'at war' and refusing to work with Coleen Nolan after Twitter spat
The peace between the panel of hit show Loose Women has been disturbed after Coleen Nolan's agent made a remark about Nadia Sawalha on social media.
The ladies of the ITV daytime talk show, which features a revolving door of hosts and panelists that include Coleen, aged 56, and Nadia, 57, are said to be at war over a tweet posted by talent agent Melanie Blake.
Melanie, who represents former singer Coleen, branded Nadia as a "nasty witch", sparking an argument behind-the-scenes of Loose Women, as reported by The Mirror.
Now, a string of TV stars from the series are reportedly refusing to appear on the same panel as Coleen due to the comments made by her agent.
The Mail On Sunday reports : “Nadia Sawalha has told the lunchtime chat show's producers that she will no longer appear alongside Ms Nolan after the singer's agent, Melanie Blake, called the actress a 'nasty witch' on social media.”
The report goes on to claim that Carol McGiffin is also refusing to work with Coleen on the show – as is Stacey Solomon.
A source told the Mail on Sunday: “Stacey is the latest person refusing to work with Coleen, which is proving really tricky. Everyone loves Stacey, as do the viewers, so nobody wants to upset her.
“It's a show that is supposed to promote strong women working together, respecting one another's views, but it's currently the case that what is going on behind the scenes is quite the opposite of that and much more dramatic.”
The fallings-out are said to be creating a logistical headache for producers of the hit show as they try to balance out the panel and to avoid upsetting any of the ladies.
Responding to the allegations, an ITV spokesperson said: "This story is untrue. Panellists are chosen for each show by the Loose Women Editor and senior production team, not the panellists themselves."
It comes after Coleen was accused of behaving in a “high and mighty” manner while the cameras are not rolling.
The beef between Nadia and Coleen is said to have been sparked after Melanie Blake – who reportedly previously worked with Nadia – reacted to a tweet by the official Loose Women team which featured Nadia saying no one was ever harder on her than she was herself.
Responding, Melanie tweeted: “It's a shame she 'officially ' gave up acting because Nadia deserve an Oscar for this speech.
"In 20 years of repping clients I never saw a nastier side to anyone than I did of her & I'm not alone. Her constant 'be kind' etc speeches are so ironic considering she is a total witch.”
Coleen previously quit Loose Women in 2011 having originally joined the show in 2000 – but rejoined the show again in 2012.
During her brief time away from the talk show, she said: “I don't miss Loose Women one bit. It was hard and there was so much bitching.”
While in 2018, Coleen was engulfed in a scandal and was accused of being a bully when she clashed with How Clean Is Your House star Kim Woodburn live on air – prompting the latter to flee the set in floods of tears and sparking over 8,000 Ofcom complaints from concerned fans who slammed the show for attacking Kim.
