An 89-year-old photographer left Sky F1’s pundits in stitches when she asked for Martin Brundle’s number.

Former McLaren and Williams driver Brundle is a fan favourite for his iconic pre-race grid walks, but this time managed to get a hilarious interview out of nowhere.

As the Sky team were in the midst of their rundown of third practice at the Monaco Grand Prix, Brundle interjected to say: “Have we got time to talk to that lady there taking the photographs? I would love to know about her.”

The camera’s panned round to a startled lady who tried to jump out of shot, thinking she was blocking the way when she was in fact the subject of Brundle's interest.

“Do you speak English, maam?” he said. “My name’s Martin, what is your name?”

She replied: “Claudia Albuquerque, I admire you and everything that you do, and you’re fantastic."

Brundle then said: “Well we were thinking the same about you, how long have you been taking photos?

“Oh my god,” Albuquerque said. “Since I was 15-years-old, I hate to tell you I’m already 89 but not giving up."

When asked about her favourite photo of her career she said: “Prince Albert when he became a sovereign, salut.”

It was then time for farewells, and Albuquerque said: “See you over the weekend and all good luck to all of your teams."

However, she then leaned into Brundle, perhaps not aware the microphone was picking her up, and said: “I need your card!”

Brundle instantly burst into laughter, and Jenson Button cracked up, thinking he was being asked on a date.

Sky host Simon Lazenby doubled over in hysterics as Albuquerque said goodbye, and gave Brundle a pat on the back before saying: “Great work.”

As it turns out, Albuquerque is actually somewhat of a legend in Monaco, and has her own art gallery where she edits shots of the principality’s royalty, as well as the celebrities that pass through.
