Meet Sabrina Bartlett, the Bridgerton actress set to star in The Larkins
The Larkins, ITV’s new The Darling Buds of May reboot starring Bradley Walsh and Joanna Scanlan, is set to air later this week.
Based on H.E. Bates’ iconic novel, the six-part family drama will focus on the adventures of Pop and Ma Larkin and their six children.
Fans of the beloved original 90s series will know that of these children, one plays a particularly important role, after finding herself caught in a love triangle with two of the village’s most eligible bachelors.

Sabrina Bartlett will play The Larkins’ eldest daughter Mariette in the upcoming series, taking over the role that launched Catherine Zeta-Jones’ career 30 years ago.
But who is Sabrina Bartlett and where have you seen the new Mariette actress before? Here’s what you need to know.
Sabrina Bartlett is an English actress best known for her work in television.
The 30-year-old graduated from Guildford School of Acting in 2013 before going on to land her first roles in individual episodes of Doctor Who, Holby City and Suspects in 2014.
She then went on to appear in multiple episodes of popular TV shows including Poldark, The Passing Bells, The Innocents and Da Vinci’s Demons, as well as a brief role in Game of Thrones.
Bartlett is best known, however, for her role as Bridgerton’s Siena Rosso, the opera singer in a secret relationship with Anthony Bridgerton.
Considering season two of Netflix’s hit historical fiction series — set to be released in 2022 — will focus on the romantic pursuits of Anthony, it’s highly likely Bartlett will reprise her role.
The Larkins will be one of the Bridgerton actress’ first main roles after playing supporting characters for the last decade and she has promised to play a more modern and daring version of Mariette than we have seen before.
Where is Catherine Zeta-Jones now?
After working predominantly in theatre, Catherine Zeta-Jones’ portrayal of The Darling Buds of May’s Mariette launched her film and television career.
Zeta-Jones went on to star in several high-profile films, including The Mask of Zorro, Oceans Twelve and Chicago, the latter of which saw her win a BAFTA and Oscar for her role as Velma Kelly.
The award-winning actress can currently be seen in American crime series Prodigal Son, and she was recently cast as Morticia in Wednesday, Netflix’s upcoming Addams Family spin-off series.
When is The Larkins on ITV?
The first episode of The Darling Buds of May remake will air on ITV and ITV Hub on Sunday, October 10 at 8pm.
New episodes will be released weekly at the same time, with The Larkins’ final episode set for Sunday, November 14.
