N-Dubz latest as fans angry over last-minute cancellation
N-Dubz fans have been left 'angry and frustrated' after the band cancelled their Nottingham show just minutes before they were due to appear. The London hip-hop trio were due to perform at the Motorpoint Arena last night (Tuesday, November 22) but cancelled after their warm-up act finished their set due to one member, Dappy, being sick.
Fans, many of whom had waited hours to see the band, were shown a message inside the venue that read: "We are very sorry to announce that due to artist illness, tonight's performance has been postponed and will be rescheduled. We understand the frustration and inconvenience caused by this late announcement; however, it is just not possible for the artists to ahead this evening."
Leah Camille, an 18-year-old student, travelled to the gig from Lincoln with her boyfriend Ali Thomson. She told Nottinghamshire Live they had spent more than £200 on a hotel, trains and food and had queued since 2pm.
"It was very very frustrating and I'm angry," she said. "We'd been stood out in the cold for hours." Responding to complaints put to N-Dubz by the Mirror, the band said a doctor advised Dappy at the very last minute that he was unable to perform. "We had to take this advice seriously and consider Dappy’s health so that the rest of the tour can happen, which has so far been amazing," they said.
"We’re deeply sorry to all the fans who travelled to see us tonight and promise to make it up to you with a new rescheduled date for the show. Dappy, Tulisa & Fazer."
Nottinghamshire Live has approached N-Dubz representatives and the Motorpoint Arena for further comment.
