Relished the opportunity to run at the Brondby backline and it was the Nigeria playmaker’s cross which led to Gers’ second. 7

Got his reward for playing to the whistle as he close-range tap-in was judged to be onside by the VAR officials. 7

Decision-making let him down a couple of times early on as he took the wrong crossing options but otherwise another bright display from the Romanian. 7

Told to sharpen up by Gerrard but the Colombian was so unlucky not to grab his 100th goal after shaking the post just before the half-time. 6

Replaced Balogun with half an hour left. Played a beauty of a ball through for Sakala. 5

On for the final 20 minutes but unable to stretch Gers’ lead as he failed to make the most of a one-v-one with the keeper. 4

Almost made an immediate impact as he fired against the crossbar. 4

A cameo for the playmaker as he continues to find his feet. 3
