Sheffield Wednesday player ratings as poor Owls lose at home to Ipswich Town

His view for the opener was partially blocked with so many bodies in front of him. Wednesday were indebted to him after that, thanks to two notable saves either side of the break. The one bright spot on a dull day.
Last season's player of the year looks a shadow of himself. Whether it's the formation or the demands being put on him, he looks short of confidence going forward and even tentative in defence.
Had to come off just before the half-hour mark after appearing to take a knock earlier in the half. Another injury Wednesday could do without.
Earned a cheap booking when he needlessly kicked the ball away, first half. Aside from that he coped pretty well and was diligent enough. Alot more solid in a back three and aerially was dominant.
Questions have to be asked about his role in the Ipswich goal just before half-time. Looked as if he switched off completely. Unsurprisingly was booked, yet again, just after the restart.
Made the most key passes of any home player as he tried desperately to make things happen.
Making his debut he struggled with the pace at times, understandably after coming in from the cold. To his credit he chipped in with defensive duties, with a flurry of clearances and tackles.
An odd sort of performance from a player who is hard to pin down. Is he a winger, a full-back, a midfielder? He contributed some nice passes and touches here but too often let himself down with the end product. Looks a booking waiting to happen with his short fuse.
Popped off three efforts but none on target. One of many who just cannot get going this season.
As ever he showed plenty of determination, personified by one moment first half when he ran his socks off to charge down an Ipswich defender. Sadly never had anything resembling an effort in a frustrating showing before he came off.
Hooked at the break, along with Gregory. Up until then he got little to no change from Ipswich's backline and sent a couple of efforts wide of goal.
Looked shaky at times in the centre of a back three. One of many who didn't cover themselves in glory for the goal. Did chip in with his fair share of clearances though.
Another game and another absolute non-performance.
Looked really bright when he came on and tried to make things happen. A potentially bright addition.
