Snapchat DOWN: Popular messaging service not working as thousands left without access

If you are trying and failing to send a message on Snapchat tonight then you are definitely not alone. The popular messaging service is currently down and not working for thousands of users across the globe and it's one of the biggest outages we've seen in a very long time. Things seem to have hit troubles at around 5.45pm tonight with the problems still ongoing.
Keeping an eye on the issues is independent outage monitor Down Detector which has recorded a massive spike in Snapchat down reports.
At the time of writing Down Detector UK has registered a peak of more than 48,000 reports - that's massive!
Snapchat users are now flocking to other social media sites, such as Twitter, to vent their frustration at the glitch with one fan named @Sarahlouise saying, "Can you please fix it my Snapchat is down so annoying." Whilst another called @Carson75314951 adding, "Snap chat down for anyone else?"
There's currently no word on what is causing the issues or when things will be back online but Express.co.uk will bring you full updates as we get them.
This isn't the only time that Snapchat fans have been left without access to the service with the app also going offline last month.
