Speaking of Friday nights, no fan of either club will need reminder what happened at St Mary's on one Friday night in 2019, City running out in 9-0 winners in an astonishing, record-breaking match. Maresca and City will be happy if it finishes 1-0 in their favour this time.
For fans travelling down to the south coast, there is potential for them to see Conor Coady make his first appearance for the club. The summer signing from Wolves is due to at least be on the bench after recovering from the foot fracture he suffered in pre-season.
