Coronation Street actor Stephanie Beacham lauded the humility of her fellow Weatherfield star William Roache. The TV legend who portrayed Martha Fraser in the ITV soap was excited to work with him again. She gave the Loose Women panel an insight into what the Corrie legend is like behind the scenes.
Stephanie last appeared on the cobbles in 2009 and the actress revealed how she jumped at the chance to come back.
She explained: "I said 'Oh yes please' because I wanted to work with Bill Roache again. He is a dear friend and such a lovely man and he is so modest.
"There's the new ITV studios in Salford and it is so impressive and extraordinary and Bill has been with the programme for 60 years.
"I was going to his dressing room because I was going to be running some lines and I said 'Bill you don't have a bathroom' he said 'No I don't need it'."
