Stephen Bear 'revenge porn' sentencing delayed to allow for psychiatric report

Bear, 32, was convicted by a jury in December of two counts of disclosing private sexual images and one of voyeurism after sharing a video of himself having sex with Georgia Harrison without her consent.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner had consensual sex with the Love Island star in his garden in August 2020, which was captured on his CCTV cameras without her knowledge.

Bear then uploaded this footage to his OnlyFans account and shared it on WhatsApp - all without Georgia's permission.

The footage made it online in December 2020 and was shared on multiple platforms before being taken down days later.

Bear was convicted by the jury of two counts of disclosing private sexual images with intent to cause distress and one count of voyeurism, and was due to be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court today (January 31).

However, in a hearing on Monday (January 30), defence barrister Gemma Rose made an application to adjourn the hearing until the beginning of March.

Ms Rose said following a probation report, Bear should undergo a psychiatric assessment as those who have assessed him so far were "unable to formally diagnose" and that it would be "beneficial" to the court for a full assessment to be done.

She said: "The sentence should be adjourned for the wait to prepare this report. I realise the delay will cause stress and anxiety to all those involved in the proceedings, but it's in my submission the court has all the evidence available before it.

"The crown has cited Mr Bear's behaviour at trial and I believe a psychiatric report will provide some context." Bear showed up to court for his trial every day in a rented Rolls Royce, with increasingly exaggerated outfits including a full suit, fur coats, cane and cigars.

Judge Christopher Morgan told the parties that the court should "give full consideration to all evidence available", whilst adding whether either party is successful in their submissions "is a matter for him individually".

He listed the case to be heard on Friday, March 3.

He said: "The defendant must be made aware of the new sentencing date and if he doesn't attend without good reason a warrant could be issued for his arrest."

The judge previously told Bear that all options for sentence would be available to him, including that of time in prison.
