Bill Turnbull, 65, has offered a health update, teasing a return to the BBC. The former BBC presenter responded to a fan's Facebook memory after he asked Bill how he was doing.

On October 13, Johnroger40 said: "@billtu popped up on my Facebook memories Bill.... how are you doing?" Bill replied to his 106,500 followers: "Still here!" "Thought I'd not seen you on the tele for a while, so here I am. READ MORE: Angel Strawbridge opens up on ‘weird’ feeling leaving the Chateau

"Cheers Bill and all the best with everything." Bill then teased his TV return, saying: "BBC2 next week 1800..." Bill currently presents for ClassicFM on the weekends from 10 till 1, following many years at the BBC.

He was the main male presenter of BBC Breakfast from 2001 until 2016. During his time on the show he often presented on location, including coverage of the 2008 and 2012 US elections, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the London bombings. In 2005 he was a contestant in the third series of Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with Karen Handy. Despite spraining his ankle in the second week, he stayed in the competition for seven weeks, finishing sixth out of twelve contestants. Bill was told by his doctors in 2017 that he had incurable prostate cancer, which had spread to his spine, ribs, pelvis, hips and legs. Bill revealed in November last year when speaking on BBC Morning Live that he wished he checked himself out, as he might not be in the situation he is in now. He said: "I didn't get checked which is why I'm in the situation I'm in now." "I've had so many people get in touch and say 'yeah I got checked, I got diagnosed and we caught it early, and as a result, the future is a lot brighter' but if you don't do that, then it's a different picture."
