Strictly fans fume as Tyler West leaves show on Blackpool week

The Strictly Come Dancing competition has been hotting up as the show hit Blackpool for the first time in two years. The remaining eight celebrities took to the iconic dancefloor on Saturday night as Fleur East topped the leaderboard with the first 40 of the series.

On the other end of the scale comedian Ellie Taylor finished at the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 31. However, it was sadly CBBC star Molly Rainford who faced Kiss FM DJ Tyler West in the dreaded dance-off.

Molly and her partner Carlos Gu took to the dancefloor to perform their Jive again before Tyler and his partner Dianne Buswell performed their Salsa. At the end of the dance-off judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas voted to save Molly meaning that Tyler is the latest to leave the show.

Anton Du Beke went against his fellow judges and decided to save Tyler and Dianne but it wasn't enough. He said: "This is a testament to how incredible all the couples are, at this point of the competition.

"We have a situation here, where neither of these couples in the competition deserves to be here, whereas they could have easily made the final. For me, brilliant performances by both the couples, but one of them was more dynamic, the couple I would like to save is Tyler and Dianne.”

Fans flocked to social media to share their anger at who was in the dance-off and Tyler losing his place in the competition. On Twitter, @CorinnaElliot said: "Truly baffled as to how they can save Molly out of the two. Tyler was far superior."

@justelsg said: "So gutted for Tyler and Dianne they shouldn’t have been in the dance-off in the first place." @RyanGSoapKing11 added: "The biggest shock since Aston Merygold. @TylerWestt and @dbuzz6589 should of made the final!!!!!! I'm really sad!"

@dylan6roberts added: "Wrong decision by the judges, totally wrong." @TianCFC also added: "Absolute rubbish Tyler and Dianne should of went through."

@molliesnook then added: "THIS IS NOT RIGHT THEY SHOULD BE IN THE FINAL." @kaz_evs also said: "Totally gutted that this lush pair are out - Tyler clearly the better dancer."

The remaining seven celebrities will take to the dancefloor next week when Strictly returns on Saturday at 7:15pm on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
