Emma Thompson's favorite UGG slippers have the kind of discount you can't ignore and luckily enough for any fans of the brand that blends comfort, style, and quality - it's live now!
Winter is definitely creeping in and the UGG Black Friday deals are looking very appealing right now. The brand, which became a hit in the early noughties has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, with plenty of high-profile fans. British actor Emma, who's long since been regarded as a national treasure, has discussed her love of them in the past, telling a particularly humorous anecdote about her cozy footwear of choice.
During an interview with Vogue (opens in new tab)back in 2021 while promoting the film Cruella, which she starred in at the time, the star described one particularly funny story from the making of the film. The movie, which tells the origin story of one of Disney's most notorious glamour-pusses Cruella DeVille, was shot in Emma's hometown London.
After being dressed up to the nines in one of costume designer Jenny Beavan's incredible outfits she needed to get from the production team's base in the Southbank all the way across town.
That's no mean feat on an ordinary day, but an unexpected logistical issue meant that Emma needed to think on her feet. “There was a demonstration and we got stuck,” said the actor. “The worst thing you can do on a film set is be late, so I said, ‘We’ll get out and go by Tube. It’s fine. It’s Sunday morning, it’s 9am.’”
Thankfully, her feet were encased in footwear far more sensible than her OTT costume, one of the many incredible pieces from the film which gained costume designer Jenny an Oscar.
Unintimidated by being an A-lister on public transport and ever the consummate professional Emma continued, “It was rammed. I was on the Tube in a dressing gown, Ugg slippers, a wig 3ft high, eyelashes out to here. And do you know what? Everyone completely ignored me." The actor then added, "They just thought I was a drag act on my way home after the last performance. I love London.”
