Wrexham hit the 100-point mark for the season as they returned to the National League summit with a comfortable win over Oldham Athletic.

Elliot Lee and Mullin's second goal sealed victory in what was a dominant display.

Oldham's Mike Fondop was sent-off before Mullin completed his hat-trick.

Phil Parkinson's side go top of the table, three points clear of Notts County with a game in hand, while Oldham are 15th.

Wrexham began in dominant mood and although top scorer Mullin thought he had given his side the lead inside five minutes, his goal to struck off for a foul on keeper Matthew Hudson.

Peter Clarke noticed Wrexham keeper Ben Foster off his line, but the veteran defender's speculative attempt from distance sailed harmlessly over the crossbar.

Hudson made a crucial save on the goal line to deny Ben Tozer's header from Elliot Lee's corner.

But it was from another Lee set piece that Wrexham went ahead. Hudson saved Lee's free-kick, but O'Connell followed up to score from close range for his second goal since joining from Charlton in January.

Mullin doubled the lead eight minutes later, finding himself unmarked to net Lee's free-kick.

Oldham's attacks were few and far between, but they had the final say of the first half with Hogan heading home John Rooney's free-kick.

Lee's impressive afternoon was rewarded early in the second half when James Jones found him on the edge of the area and the winger sent a curling effort beyond Hudson.

Wrexham continued to press forward to add to their tally with Hudson saving Sam Dalby's effort before Ryan Barnett fired the rebound wide of the post.

Mullin headed Barnett's cross for the home side's fourth and the striker had further chances to add to his tally before Oldham substitute Mike Fondop, the former Dragons striker, was sent-off with a minute remaining for use of an elbow.

But Mullin was not to be denied and he completed his hat-trick with an effort from distance in stoppage time as Wrexham broke the record for most club league wins and most club points as well as most National League goals.

"Another game ticked off - six to go now - and pleased with the professionalism of the display today.

"Obviously some of the quality of the goals, I thought they were excellent.

"A good all round day and it's just another game along the road to where we need to get to."
