Travis Kelce offers another hint over Taylor Swift romance
Travis Kelce isn't taking all of the Taylor Swift romance references to heart, with the Kansas City Chiefs star responding to NFL Network’s Rich Eisen in-game fun during the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Kelce made his return to action from injury on Sunday having missed the Week 1 21-20 loss to the Detroit Lions. The tight end, 33, received one touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the 17-9 win over the Jaguars.
Alongside his injury status, Kelce's love life has also made headlines in recent weeks, with a reported romance with global megastar Swift on the cards. The Messenger initially reported that the pair were "hanging out" having crossed paths in New York City a few weeks ago.
Kelce's keenness to meet Swift also wasn't a secret. The NFL star stated on his hit podcast, New Heights, alongside brother and Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce, that he wanted to hand the singer his phone number at one of her Kansas City-based concerts earlier this summer.
"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her," Kelce said. “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”
During Sunday's win over the Jaguars, NFL Network's Eisen referenced Swift. “Kelce finds a blank space for the score!” Eisen said at one point, referring to Swift's song "Blank Space".
Eisen added: "You saw it on Thursday night, when Travis Kelce wasn’t in there, it left a ‘blank space,’ but I think he returns today and proves to be the ‘anti-hero.’ Never goes ‘out of style'."
Eisen also shared a video to his Instagram, teasing Kelce with a "ding" noise for every Swift reference. “Well played Rich…. Well played,” Kelce wrote. “I know what you writers wanna hear, and you wanna hear more about that. And I’m not gonna give you anything,” Kelce also said in an interview with NFL+ on September 15.
It's not just Travis Kelce being inundated with questions over a potential romance with Swift. Brother Jason Kelce has also been asked. “I’ve seen these rumors. I cannot comment,” Jason, 35, told panelist and retired NFL star Tony Gonzalez.
Jason Kelce added: "Ever since Catching Kelce everybody’s been infatuated with Travis’ love life. I don’t really know what’s going on there, but I know Travis is having fun and we’ll see what happens with whoever he ends up with.”
