ROSS County manager Malky Mackay has praised Saints youngsters Jake Vokins and Kayne Ramsay as they return from their loan spells in the Scottish Premiership.

Left-back Vokins, 22, spent the full season at Victoria Park after completing a summer move, while 22-year-old right-back joined him north of the border in January.

Ramsay had previously spent the first-half of the season at League One outfit Crewe Alexandra.

Vokins made 24 appearances while Ramsay made 10 as Ross County finished an impressive sixth in the division.

Mackay, former Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic manager, told the club website: “I would firstly like to thank the clubs that have been involved.

“It is good for us to develop relationships with top clubs and to be seen by them as a good development pathway for their players. On behalf of the club, I give my full thanks to Watford, Southampton, Coventry City and Charlton Athletic.”

“Our loan players this season have been brilliant. They have applied themselves fantastically well and have all seamlessly fitted in to our group.

“Jake Vokins showed true character in coming back from a dreadful injury and went on to become a mainstay in our team.”

“Kayne Ramsay scored a vital equaliser for us here against Livingston and has been a great member of the group with a tremendous personality.”
