Westlife's Nicky Byrne shares update after dramatic fall off OVO Hydro stage
Westlife star Nicky Byrne has shown off his injuries after he fell through the stage at Glasgow's OVO Hydro during the band's latest gig.
Nicky was injured on some mechanical stairs at last night's gig and shared the footage of the fall with his fans on social media. He wrote: "Hey All, Thank you for all your well wishes! So last night I did have a little accident on stage in Glasgow, where I didn't realise the mechanical stairs had opened behind me.
"A crazy moment which could have been a lot worse but I'm completely fine, a little bit battered and bruised but ok! I'll see y'all back up there tonight. The show must go on. Thanks for all your well wishes. #ReallyFlyingWithoutWings. Love Nicky".
Nicky then said that he was checked out by the staff at the Hydro as he posted a picture of his scraped torso. He said: "Checked by the wonderful medics at the hydro - See you all again tonight Scotland."
And fans were quick to comment, sending him lots of love ahead of the band's second performance tonight at the OVO Hydro.
One wrote: "Omg. Glad you’re okay. Heal well Nicky. Speedy recovery sir x." While one penned: "You are so strong to come back tonight on stage! Be careful please, Take it easy."
And one commented: "Hopefully you are on the mend soon, lucky you didn’t do more damage to yourself."
The two concerts are part of Westlife's Wild Dreams tour. The Irish band will belt out some of their classics such as ‘Swear It Again', ‘Flying Without Wings’ and ‘World of our Own’ as well as new anthems from their latest album.
