What is the Snapdragon logo and what are they paying Manchester United? Red Devils confirm new front of shirt sponsors
Manchester United have agreed a lucrative new deal for Snapdragon to become their new front-of-shirt sponsor.
The logo for the American technology company will replace TeamViewer on Red Devils kits from the start of next season.
United have had German-based software firm TeamViewer on the front of their home and away shirts for the past two campaigns.
But the club confirmed in December that they would buy back the rights to the sponsorship deal three years early.
United have now partnered with Snapdragon, which are part of Qualcomm Technologies which is a global partner of the club.
Its processors are used in products such as smartphones, computers, chargers and gaming devices.
Snapdragon donated their own cup to Wrexham after they beat the Red Devils 3-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Snapdragon Stadium in California during their summer tour of America.
What is the Snapdragon logo?
The Snapdragon logo is a red-coloured S shape with dragon features on a white ball.
The design, which has been featured in promotional material for United before, is aligned centrally with the company's name underneath.
The Snapdragon logo will front home, away and third shirts for United's men’s and women’s teams from the 2024/2025 campaign.
A press release from the club read: “Manchester United PLC has agreed to an expanded strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, that will see the Snapdragon brand displayed on the club’s famous shirts.”
What are they paying Manchester United?
United have yet to publicly confirm the length or financial terms of the deal, but it is reportedly worth a world-record sum.
According to the Evening Standard, Snapdragon are thought to be paying around £65million per season.
And this trumps the £60m deal Real Madrid has with Emirates - which was previously the world's most valuable shirt sponsorship.
