Who is former NFL star Zac Stacy?

FORMER NFL running back, Zac Stacy is accused of spousal abuse after a video surfaced of him beating the mother of his child.

Stacy is from rural Alabama and played in the NFL from 2013 to 2015, closing out his career as a running back for the New York Jets.

Zac Stacy, 30, started his football career in Alabama, where he was a running back for the college football team at Vanderbilt.

In 2013, the Los Angeles Rams signed Stacy to a $2.3million 4-year contract as a fifth-round pick in the NFL draft.

As a rookie, Stacy started in his first season but the following year, the Rams drafted Tre Mason who took over the starter position, moving Stacy down to a third-string running back.

The team later traded Stacy in 2015 to the New York Jets for an exchange for the 224th seventh-round pick after Stacy requested to be released from the team.

That same year, Stacy sustained injuries in his last season in the NFL and subsequently retired to attend to his brother, who has Down Syndrome.

In his 3-season career in the NFL, Stacy had a total of 3 fumbles, 1,355 rushing yards, and 358 receiving yards while playing for both the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Jets.

He was cut in 2016 and officially retired from the NFL.

What is he being accused of?

A video surfaced on November 17 showing what appears to be Stacy abusing the mother of his child, while the 5-month-old sits on the couch nearby.

The video shows his ex-girlfriend, Kristin Evans, yelling and begging for Stacy to stop as she is seen being hit in the head and thrown into a TV set that falls on her.

TMZ reported the woman filed a restraining order against Stacy, who she claims beat her in front of their son, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

“He punched me several times in the head! I begged him to stop because the baby was on the couch just a few feet from where he punched me,” she said in the restraining order application.

“I fear for my life and my children’s lives.”

The woman claims the abuse took place on November 13, and the video footage was taken from a security camera in the room.

Evans was reportedly treated for bruises, bumps, and a cut to her head after the alleged confrontation.
