YouTuber Logan Paul Signs On With WWE
Controversial YouTube creator Logan Paul, who has made a second career for himself as a fighter with circus-like boxing matches with Floyd Mayweather and fellow YouTuber KSI, inked a contract with professional wrestling company WWE, they announced Thursday.
Paul and his younger brother Jake Paul first became known on Vine. As a YouTuber, Paul was widely criticized for posting a vlog in Japan in 2017 showing a man who had died by suicide in a forest. Paul hosts the podcast Impaulsive, which has nearly 4 million subscribers on YouTube, while his personal channel has 23.5 million subscribers. Both Paul brothers began their fighting careers in 2018. Last year, Logan Paul fought Mayweather in a televised pay-per-view exhibition match. The fight reportedly generated roughly 1 million buys, generating $50 million in revenue. Paul debuted at WWE’s Wrestlemania in April.
Earlier this month WWE CEO and chairman Vince McMahon stepped down as an investigation was launched into claims he paid $3 million in hush money to a former employee over an affair.
$18 million. That’s how much Forbes reported Paul made last year, making him the ninth top-earning YouTuber of 2021.
