HMS Prince of Wales’ departure to lead the biggest Nato exercise since the Cold War has been delayed at the last minute. The Royal Navy’s £3 billion aircraft carrier should have set sail from Portsmouth on Sunday, in order to lead a Carrier Strike Group of eight ships, but her journey was cancelled for reasons unknown. It comes after Grant Shapps demanded a review of the Army’s inclusion policy which has been blasted as ‘woke nonsense’, amid reports that security checks could be relaxed to boost diversity numbers. After a leaked internal policy document outlined a series of potential actions to boost recruitment, Grant Shapps has been quoted as saying “not on my watch.” The Telegraph have recently reported that the armed forces were looking to recruit from overseas due to a long term failure to recruit from the UK. One of the biggest problems had been the security clearance requirements, which Mr Shapps has refused to lessen. TalkTV's Jake Berry is joined by former Royal Navy commander Tom Sharpe to discuss the state of the British army. #army #aircraftcarrier #armedforces #woke Click here for more from TalkTV https://talk.tv If you need any help visit: https://talk.tv/helplines
