Archie Battersbee: Parents submit last minute appeal to keep life support on

The hospital treating Archie Battersbee will not switch off the 12-year-old’s life support until the European Court of Human Rights has ruled on his future, it said today. Archie’s parents submitted an 11th hour application to the ECHR on Wednesday morning asking for his life support system to be kept switched on. The application followed a decision by Barts Health NHS Trust to impose a 9am deadline by which the family had to have submitted an appeal.
