Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been urged to resign by senior Conservatives after he admitted to attending a lockdown-breaking party in May 2020. The prime minister apologised for attending the event and said he regretted it "very much", but defended himself by claiming to think he was at a work event. "I believed implicitly that this was a work event. With hindsight I should have sent everyone back inside.
