Britain basks in early summer heatwave
Temperatures of 34 degrees Celsius are expected this week, as the United Kingdom basks in some record early summer heat. The temperature reached 29.3C (84.74F) at Heathrow and Kew Gardens according to the Met Office, making Thursday the hottest day of the year so far. It surpasses the previous hottest day of the year on Wednesday when 28.2C (82.76F) was recorded at Kew Gardens.
