There's been an angry backlash to government plans to axe 91 thousand civil service jobs. As ITV News revealed last night, Boris Johnson told Ministers yesterday that the service should be slashed by a fifth. Today Unions reacted with fury, warning a national strike could be on the table. The government though insisted the plan was to get the numbers "back to normal" to the level they were before extra staff were hired for Brexit and the Pandemic.
