Train stations were deserted across Britain today as the biggest rail strike in 30 years began to bite. Only one in five trains ran and half of all lines were closed. And this is just the start - two other walkouts are planned on Thursday and Saturday. The RMT union, which organised the strike, said it "will win" the row over pay and jobs.
