Finland and Sweden could join NATO 'in next couple of months'

NATO has "welcomed" formal applications from Finland and Sweden to join the alliance, sending a message to Russia that its "open door policy remains the same", a US ambassador has told Sky News. Speaking to Sky's Beth Rigby Interviews programme, Julianne Smith said NATO is looking to expedite the applications from both nations, speeding up the process to as little as a "couple of months".
