Government need to back up announcements with 'concrete action' say Labour

Asked about £7bn of investment in transport, Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves said the same announcements have been made "60 times" without "a single spade in the ground on the rails". She said the North is "sick of announcements" without "concrete action to match the rhetoric of the government". Ms Reeves added: "Of course new money is welcome, but it needs to be backed up with action."
