'Historic day': Finland's leaders confirm intention to join Nato

Speaking at the presidential palace in Helsinki, the Finnish president, Sauli Niinistö, and prime minister, Sanna Marin, formally declared that the country would apply for Nato membership, with the Finnish parliament expected to endorse the decision in the coming days.
