Scots will have to get booster jabs if they want to access large events using their vaccine passports, Nicola Sturgeon announced today as it emerged the scheme could be extended to other premises such as pubs. The First Minister announced her limit of 500 spectators at live outdoor events will be scrapped on Monday, thereby allowing Scottish football and Six Nations rugby matches to be played in full stadiums again. She also said that she hoped the other restrictions she introduced on Boxing Day, including one-metre social distancing and table service in licensed premises, can be abolished a week later, on Jan 24. But she unveiled plans to significantly toughen up and extend her controversial vaccine passport scheme, needed to access nightclubs and large events, with Scots needing to present evidence they had received three jabs instead of two if their second dose is more than four months ago. Ms Sturgeon told the Scottish Parliament the organisers of large events will have to check the passports of at least half those attending, rather than the current 20 per cent, or a minimum of 1,000 people - whichever figure is higher.
