Labour leader Keir Starmer has paid his respects to Sir David Amess and said "his loss is felt profoundly across this house." He added: "We are united in our grief at this terrible time. We are thinking, once again, of our dear friend Jo Cox who was killed just five short years ago." Mr Starmer also said we must not lose sight of the fact that Sir David's killing was "an act of terror in our country". He continued: "A cowardly attack on a public servant doing his job is an attack on our country and our way of life."
