A Labour government would scrap Rwanda migrant deportation flights “straight away”, Sir Keir Starmer said. The Labour leader suggested the flights would be stopped on day one of his party being in power should it win the next general election. Answering questions after delivering a speech on border security in Dover this morning, Sir Keir said: “We will cancel the scheme. We don’t think the policy is going to work and we think it costs a fortune. “So of course that means we won’t operate the scheme at all. I am not interested. It is a gimmick.
