Local Elections: Minister remains defiant over Tory losses
Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi has brushed off key Tory losses in the local elections, saying it was all part of dealing with a midterm vote. He insisted Boris Johnson was still an electoral asset but did admit the Conservatives need to listen more to councillors and MPs about local issues. He also hit out at Sir Keir Starmer after police yesterday announced they were launching an investigation into a lockdown event in which the Labour leader was pictured having a beer with colleagues while indoor mixing was not allowed.
