Locals pay tribute to David Amess MP: ‘I feel I’ve lost a family member’

Residents have paid their respects David Amess MP, who was stabbed to death on Friday while meeting with constituents at a church in Leigh-on-Sea. As police officers continued their investigation, which they said is linked to Islamic extremism, local people were on Saturday laying flowers near the site of the attack and sharing their memories of Amess. "I feel as if I have lost a family member, I feel that he was the family of Southend, he was the leader of Southend, and he was everywhere so I feel I am bereaved of a family member and that's how I feel," said local resident Erica Keane.
