Police have begun a new search at a reservoir close to where British toddler Madeleine McCann disappeared while on holiday in Portugal 16 years ago. Officials are hoping to find evidence linking the main suspect, a German sex offender, to the case Christian Brueckner, 45, has never been charged over Madeleine's disappearance and has denied any involvement. He was living in the resort of Praia da Luz in 2007 when Madeleine went missing and was made a formal suspect, or an "arguido", by Portuguese prosecutors in 2022.
