One taken to hospital and nearly 50 ‘assessed’ after school bus M53 crash
A “number of patients” have been taken to hospital and 50 others are being treated at the scene after an accident involving a school bus on a motorway. Emergency services were called on Friday after reports of an overturned coach on the northbound M53 near to junction 5 at Hooton, Cheshire. Local ambulance ambulance services said one female patient suffered “major trauma-related injuries” while Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool has declared a major incident following the accident.
