The Prime Minister has full confidence in Suella Braverman, Downing Street has insisted, after he declined to back the Home Secretary over her speeding fines at a press conference. It was reported on Saturday that Braverman had asked civil servants to help her avoid getting points on her license for speeding, in what Labour say would be a breach of the ministerial code. Speaking in Hiroshima, where he has been attending a G7 summit, Rishi Sunak said: “I don’t know the full details of what has happened nor have I spoken to the Home Secretary.” He said he would look into the details of the claims before commenting further. However, a No 10 spokeswoman later insisted he does “of course” have full confidence in his Home Secretary, responding to a message: “Yes, he does.” Read more on this story: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/05/21/rishi-sunak-confident-suella-braverman-confidence-speeding/ #Sunak #braverman #speeding Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
