Russia claims 771 Ukrainian fighters have surrendered from Azovstal

OVER 700 Ukrainian fighters have surrendered from the Azovstal steelworks plant in the last 24 hours, according to Russian armed forces. Some of the men purported to be surrendered Ukrainian fighters from the Azov regiment could be seen with crutches and eye patches in the footage released by the ministry. A total of 1,730 fighters have surrendered since Monday, Russian defence ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said, adding that 80 of those were wounded and that those requiring medical attention were being treated in hospital. Hundreds of Ukrainian fighters have surrendered from the labyrinth of bunkers and tunnels below the vast plant, though Moscow and Kyiv have given different estimates on numbers.
