Six people killed after gunman opens fire at July 4 parade in Chicago

Police are hunting a gunman who killed six people and injured 24 when he sprayed bullets from a rooftop into a July 4 parade near Chicago. Bloodied parade-goers scattered in panic as gunfire erupted 10 minutes after the parade began in Highland Park, an affluent suburb of the city. The gunman, a white man described as slightly-built with long black hair and aged between 18-20, remains at large. He is believed to have fired from the roof of a shop, police said.
