Taiwan earthquake: moment building collapses as residents flee

At least nine people have been killed and more than 700 injured by a powerful earthquake that struck Taiwan on Wednesday morning. Video of the aftermath shows buildings at precarious angles in the eastern city of Hualien, an earthquake-prone area about 96 miles south of Taipei. The 7.4-magnitude quake, the strongest to hit the island in at least 25 years, struck offshore shortly before 8am local time as the morning commute began and children travelled to school.
